Visibility Buddy · My own web design studio

A website you can talk to, and it books the appointment.

Most local business websites are a brochure with a phone number on it. I built a receptionist that sits on the page. You press a button and ask a question out loud. It answers with that business's own details and books you in. It runs as a demo on 54 sites I designed for dental offices, law firms and clinics I was pitching.

The problem

The phone rings while everyone is busy.

A dental front desk or a two-lawyer office can't pick up every call, and a caller who gets voicemail often tries the next name on the map.

The website doesn't help. A contact form lands in an inbox, and by the time someone reads it the person may have called somewhere else.

I wanted an owner to feel the fix in ten seconds, on a site with their own name on it, instead of reading about it in a proposal.

What I built

Press the button and ask it something.

One small file adds the whole thing to a site. Each business gets its own script, written from what its real website says.

  1. 01It answers out loudPress Start to talk, ask a question, and a recorded voice answers with that office's details. It listens in the browser, so there is no app and no phone call.
  2. 02It books the appointmentAsk for a time and a booking card appears, with the date on a calendar and a button to save it to yours.
  3. 03It doesn't pushIt never books on a guess. Say you're just looking and it gives you the phone, address and hours. Say cancel and the appointment is cancelled. Talk over it and it stops to listen.
  4. 04The form shows the owner's sideSites that had no form get one. Submit it and you see what the owner would see: a new lead alert with buttons to call, text or email back.
  5. 05Every site is checked before it shipsEach voice clip is transcribed back and compared to its script. A simulated caller runs twenty random turns against each site, interruptions included.

What changed

A pitch people can hear.

Every demo site now shows the offer instead of describing it. Each one has a short filming script, so I can record myself talking to it and send the clip along with the pitch.

Build notes

  • One JavaScript file, no build step, kept separate from the host page's styles
  • Speech recognition runs in the browser
  • Voice clips are rendered ahead of time on my own machine, so a conversation costs nothing to run
  • One small script file per business, written from a scrape of its real site
  • Automated checks: audio round trip, simulated caller, live form test

Scope and limits

This is a demo. The answers are scripted and three questions deep, the booking is a sample, and nothing is connected to a real calendar or phone line. It works in Chrome. The production version, on a real phone number with a real calendar and a text back after a missed call, is the next build and is not live for a client yet.
