The problem

Two related passport and visa businesses, one in Los Angeles and one in Arlington, were running on an aging site with a third-party SEO vendor quoting $1,600 up front plus $700 a month. Customers could not pay online, could not get a shipping label without a phone call, and applications submitted for the Arlington office were silently routing to Los Angeles.

What I built

  • 01A self-service checkout where the customer pays, a prepaid FedEx label is generated and emailed to them, and the order writes to that brand’s Google Sheet. No one in the office touches it.
  • 02A safety design enforced server-side rather than trusted to the browser: price resolved from config so nobody can pay $1 for a $399 service, charge first so a declined card creates no billable label, and an automatic charge void if the FedEx call fails after the money is taken.
  • 03Live card payments through USAePay, tokenized in the browser, running on both brands.
  • 04Full English and Spanish translation across roughly 2,900 dictionary keys, with persistence and re-translation on dynamic content.
  • 05An SEO rebuild verified by 67 automated checks: per-page canonical and Open Graph tags, FAQPage schema across 31 visa and 10 passport pages per site, XML sitemaps, and a WebP conversion pass.
  • 06A 301 redirect map that fixed the client’s disapproved Google Ads after a landing-page audit found 754 clicks and $4,638 of spend in 30 days, with 86% dumping on a homepage from malformed final URLs and 14% hitting a 404.

Result

Both brands are live and the pay-to-label pipeline was proven end to end on each of them in August 2026. The Arlington routing was fixed and verified with labelled test submissions, so applications reach the office that should receive them.

Scope and limits

Analytics was never installed, because the client did not supply a measurement ID. The wiring is in place but there is no traffic or conversion data to report here, only the build and the live verification.
